Pissouri Residents Association

Get Involved

Join the association

Membership is inexpensive, open to every resident, and it is the single thing that gives the association weight when it speaks for the village.

Why It Matters

“Five hundred households asking the same question is a different thing from one.”

When the association writes to the Community Council or a local authority, the first thing that gets read is how many households it speaks for. Membership is what turns a private complaint into a matter the village has raised.

It also pays for the things volunteers cannot donate: printing, insurance for public events, and the hire of the Community Centre for open meetings.

Membership is open to every resident of Pissouri — permanent or part-year, whatever street you live on, however long you have been here.

Membership

What you get, plainly

No tiers and no small print. One household, one membership, one vote at the AGM.

A vote and a voice

Vote at the Annual General Meeting, stand for the committee, and put items on the agenda for open meetings.

The members’ email

Committee minutes, and notice of events before they are posted publicly.

Events and guests

Entry to members’ events, and the right to bring guests to the quiz nights and social evenings.

Someone to take it up

Issues raised by members are logged, put to the Community Council in writing, and chased at each monthly meeting.

Three Ways

How to join

The quickest way is to apply online. You can also join in person at any event or at the AGM.

01

Apply online

Fill in the short application form. A committee member will be in touch to confirm your membership and how to pay.

02

At any event

Come to a quiz night or the market and speak to any committee member. Forms are on the table; it takes two minutes.

03

At the AGM

Join on the door at the Annual General Meeting. New members joining that evening can vote in that year’s committee elections.

Paying your membership

Membership can’t be paid on the website. After you apply, a committee member will contact you with how to pay.

The association will never ask you for card details or a bank transfer by email or message. If you receive something claiming to be from us and asking for payment, please tell the committee.

Standing For The Committee

Members can stand, too

The committee is elected each year at the AGM and is always looking for people willing to take on an area — such as events or membership. No experience is required beyond living here and caring about it.

Membership is inexpensive and it’s how we get heard.
